We were observing the 8 grade of SMPN 4 Malang.

We were brought to the laboratory


where the learning process was conducted. As our observation, we can say that the room is not
suitable for the learning process.
From the situation, we think that the laboratory is not a good class for the students. The
lamps were not lightened, the windows were not opened which created a gloomy atmosphere in
the class and we thought that condition was very disturbing to the students learning process.
Talking about the rooms placement, the wall of the laboratory was pasted with pictures,
but the pictures are not related to the material that is delivered. It is a language laboratory which
is surrounded with flower pictures like in Biology class. The back part of the room is very bare
and has no something interesting. The room also has no chair for the students, means they have
to sit on the floor with carpet. We think this is not a good class because we are sure that the
students are not convenient by sitting on the floor for about one hour and a half. The tables for
listening activity are not completed with headphones and chairs, which we cannot call this as
laboratory then. We also noticed that there is no board in the class. Even there is a LCD
projector, but we still think that a class should need a board for teacher to explain, moreover, it
will help when the teacher cannot operate the LCD and the projector.
