Research Design
In this study, the researchers used the descriptive-evaluative method with the use
of digital camera as a data gathering tool. Visual Inspection was done at the premises and
will document the inspection.
Research Environment
The data gathering was all collected from the S. Building, Rs building, S
laboratory and Carpentry shop of the Saint Marys University. Each Room and Hallway
was inspected. The researchers visually inspected for their lights, fans, electric sockets
and other electric utilities found in that room. Pictures were also taken from every room
and hallway. The inspection started January to March 2013.

Research Instruments
We used a long measuring tape to measure the dimensions of the hallways and
classroom. We listed our gathered data with pencil and paper list. we used a digital
camera for the documentation.
Data Gathering
Each room and hallway dimensions was first measured by a long measuring tape.
Then, by visual inspection, we turned on the switches for the Lights and Fans to test if
they do function. Then, we listed the type of installed light, counted the total sockets for
each light, how many are installed, and inspected the condition of their switch. Same was
done to the fans. For the electric sockets, we counted how many. Then we counted the
number of other electrical utility available for that room or hallway such as circuit
breakers, main switches, air conditioners, emergency lights, and fire alarms.
Then, we computed for the total working number of the lights, fans and sockets to
determine the percentage of working equipments. As for their standard and safety, we
consulted several engineers and maintenance workers for their opinions and views.
The Frequency and Percentage were also calculated for the different conditions of
the light fixtures and electric fans. Percentage was calculated as follows.

Percentage =

Frequency

* 100%
