Evaluate different Circuit simulation tools for Circuit Simulation (Give
students demonstration of Multisim software. No need for detailed introduction on this session.) List and compare different PCB layout design tools (Give students demonstration of EAGLE, Ultiboard, Circuit Maker, Free PCB. No need for very detailed introduction.) Project and Design File workflow of Multisim (Students should make simple circuit simulation of 2 different circuits assigned to them. Explain options like netlist file, back annotation , Bill of material, single layer PCB, double layer PCB, PTH, footprint, track width mil etc.) Wire, Bus, junction, AC and DC voltage source, current source, probe, Pulse generator, ground, probe, search and create option etc. Introduction. (Explain students given virtual instruments by a simple circuit incorporating them.) RC, LC & RLC based circuit simulation. (Using Multisim software plot graphs of 3 RC,LC.RLC based circuits.) Diode, Transistor, MOSFET based circuit simulation (Using Multisim software plot graphs of 3 required circuits.) IC based circuit simulation (Using Multisim simulate 3 IC based circuits ie, oscillators using 555) Simulate VI characteristics (Using Multisim plot any 2 chracteristics graphs of diode, transistor etc.) Simulate Transient Analysis (Using Multisim plot any 3 curve of diode, transistor,IC based circuit) Frequency Response Analysis (Using Multisim plot any 2 frequency response curve of RC,RLC,IC or transistorized circuit.) Ultiboard circuit design (Using Multisim prepare a circuit without virtual parts, export it to ultiboard, route and print it.) Circuit Layout Design of any 3 circuits (Using EAGLE design layout of 3 circuits of medium complexity like Matrix keypad, controller interfacing with some modules like 7-segment, 16x2 lcd, keypad etc.. Emphasis to be given on compact size of pcb, zero jumpers, proper part placement & track size etc.) Mini Project (Design of PCB for a circuit given by subject faculty.)
Mini Project (Design of PCB for a circuit selected by student.)
