Real Madrid are ready to show Asier Illarramendi the door.

The
move for Lucas Silva can leave the midfielder in no doubt
about his future prospects, although the former Real Sociedad
player has been given a few days to get used to the idea that
perhaps the time has come to leave.
It is not something he had been planning, but it looks like he
is out of options. 'Los Blancos' did not even wait for a firm
offer from Athletic de Bilbao to come in for Illarra which, as
revealed by MARCA on Wednesday, is for a sum of close to
25 million.
The deal for Silva is all but done, which seems to signal that
the next step will be to sit down with Athletic to negotiate
Asier's transfer and see if the Bilbao outfit is really prepared
to stump up the cash.
The offer Athletic have put on the table represents an all-time
club record. Moreover, should the transfer go ahead at top
whack, it would be more than double their most expensive
signing yet, which currently stands at the 12 million paid to
Betis in 1997 for Roberto Ros.
The 24-year-old anchorman has featured on Athletic's mostwanted list for some time now and, indeed, they were keen to
sign him last summer. Real paid Real Sociedad 32 million, a
price tag Athletic could never have considered, and Sociedad
would not have let him go for less. The Bilbao club is now,
however, in a position to negotiate a better price.
