Health & Family Welfare Minister: Speaker, Sir, I say with

sadness that Opposition is making hue and cry unnecessarily.
Perhaps they are not aware of the democratic norms. The

people of Himachal Pradesh have given clear cut mandate to
Virbhadra Singh Government for five years and the elections to
Lok Sabha are fought on national issues, not on State issues.

So,
their
walk-out
is
unnecessary,
unwarranted. We condemn it.

Secondly, on 4th August, 2014, Hon'ble Chief Minister
launched e-Vidhan Project making Himachal Pradesh Vidhan

Sabha the first Vidhan Sabha in the country to communicate
online with all the Government departments. Speaker, Sir, I

congratulate you and Vidhan Sabha Secretariat for this big event
and achievement.
Speaker, Sir, information technology has made a decisive
impact on every branch of human life with both Central and

State Governments making every effort to introduce e-
governance, thus ensuring efficiency, promptness, transparency

and better citizen-friendly interface.
As a result, our State has been taking initiatives and most
of the Government departments have embraced e-governance.

Keeping with that vision, today Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha

in its 50th Year has become completely online by successfully
establishing the e-Vidhan workflow network. Therefore, it is a

great proud and privilege for me to be the part of this august
House on the occasion of successful launching of the ambitious
e-Vidhan Project.
Now, this project has successfully started functioning.
Some of us may be missing limbs, but for many I hope launching

of this new technology has been a positive experience. The
project will help this august House to become a more effective,

mindful place with technology platform.
Speaker, Sir, I note with appreciation the significant role
and personal interest taken by your goodself in completion of

this project. You have continued to handle all the opportunities
and challenges professionally and in consultation with all
concerned in this Secretariat. I attribute this success to your
relentless efforts and would also like to convey my appreciation

to Vidhan Sabha Secretariat for their tireless and selfless efforts
in making this project a reality.
Speaker, Sir, e-Vidhan has put at our disposal the latest
State-of-the-art technology. The onus now is on us to make

sure that this instrument is used to full advantage. Tag of the
first e-Legislative Assembly in the country would inspire us to

deliver quality services. With vision, courage and hard work, we
will succeed. Therefore, it is my firm belief that all the Members

will fully embrace this technology so as to enhance efficiency in

discharging our duties as people's representatives.
Above all, Sir, as you know, Himachal Pradesh has stood
first in many fields in the country and I congratulate the Chief
Minister for that. And I hope that we will also learn this latest
technology with the help of technical staff which you have
engaged here. So, I compliment you and all the Members of this
Hon'ble House for this new technology. Thank you, Sir.
