DEPTH OF FIELD

BY CONNOR MORT

WHAT IS DEPTH OF FIELD?

Depth of field is the distance between the nearest
and the furthest objects giving a focused image. It
is used to completely focus on a certain object. As
a result this can make the photo more interesting
and professional.

WHAT IS APERTURE?
In

optics, an aperture is a hole or an

opening through which light travels. More
specifically, the aperture of an optical
system is the opening that determines the
cone angle of a bundle of rays that come to
a focus in the image plane.

Large and small Depth Of Field!

Having a large Depth of field makes the
background of the photograph more blurry.
The higher the F no. the more blurry it will be.
On the other hand the small Depth of field will
make the background more clear. When you
have a small F no. with it makes it perfectly
clear!

3 WAYS OF HOW THE PHOTOGRAPHER COULD

MAKE A SHALLOWER DEPTH OF FIELD!

- Lower the Depth

Of Field
- Zoom in on the
object
- Move to a closer
distance to the
object

I think that these two images are good

enough to show the difference . I
couldve made one of them a bit more
blurry though.

SHUTTER SPEED!
Shutter speed is a measurement of the time the shutter is open,
shown in seconds or fractions of a second i.e.1 s, 1/2 s, 1/4 s
1/250 s, 1/ 500 s, etc. We changed the settings from AV to TV and
we also changed the number of seconds on the screen. We didnt
need any extra equipment to do this. We dimmed the lights
because it makes our focused objects stand out a bit more. I dont
think that any of my photos were that good to be honest. We
couldve chosen a more simpler choice of photo. I would use this
technique again because its very effective and it looks
professional.

MY PHOTOS!

I think that my photos arent the

best. I chose quite a complexed and
detailed photo. If I chose an
easier/simpler photo choice it may
have been better. However I did
manage to capture part of the body
that was moving at speed.
