LOCAL NON-PROFIT TO HOST BIKE-A-THON

Winfield, KS A local non-profit organization, Kids Against Cancer, will host a bike-a-thon
Saturday, April 10th, to raise money for St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
Kids Against Cancer has been operating out of Winfield for 3 years. Their mission is to help find
a cure for childhood cancer through research, to do this in a tender and caring way, and to
improve the quality of life of patients with cancer. They support organizations that support
children with cancer and their families.
The bike-a-thons starting location will be at Island Park in Winfield. The childrens division will
ride around the park, and will begin at 11 a.m. The adult division will ride the 10k distance and
will begin at noon. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and refreshments will be served immediately
following the race for participants, observers, and their families.
All proceeds from the bike-a-thon go to support cancer research through St. Jude Childrens
Research Hospital. All participants will receive a t-shirt and additional merchandise will be
available for purchase on race day.
