INTRODUCTION

This Diwali I went to Junagadh, my home town where I was born. I

often visit my place as it is near Rajkot where I live. When I
reached there the cold burst of wind did hit my body. I went to
have Yummy and Mouth Watering food to a Restaurant with my
Nana-Nani and we had lots of fun.

BODY-UPARKOT & MAHABAT MAKBARA

UPARKOT:
Next morning I was Ineffable because the sun was beautiful. We
are lucky that we still have Historical Sites which are in a good
condition and I was the one who got a chance to visit one. First of
all we went to the place Uparkot a palace in Junagadh. We visited
the place where the wedding took place of the King and Queen
but I got so fierce when I got in there because there were some
people who were polluting in there by throwing garbage and
writing their names on the wall which is somehow destroying our
National Monument.
I went to the place where there were extremely big Cannons.
These cannons were named as Neelam and Manek Cannons.
These cannons were used against the Portuguese in Diu in 1538
A.D by the Turkish naval force under Sule man, who was invited
by the Sultan of Gujarat. The Turks were defeated and left the
cannons behind. The cannons were later brought to Junagadh and
used here/installed here.
I went to see a well in there which is called as Navghan Kuvo (a
well) which is also located in Uparkot. This well is named after one
of the Emperor of Junagadh RaNavghan (A.D. 1025-44). This well
is very deep, we can go till the end of the well but we need to go
down many steps to reach the end of the well and also its very

dark over there but there openings in the well which lets light
pass through.
Theres a place in the palace which is known as Thaka Bari
(Thaka-Push, Bari-Window) where the person who has done a
huge crime are pushed from there and they die.

Mahabat Makbara:
I went to a place called Mahabat Makbara which is also located in
Junagadh. It is a monument related to the Islamic Religion. I
concealed UNDER A NEVER SETTING SUN when I reached
there. It is named after the 6th Nawab Mahabat Khanji II. The
Monument Construction was started in AD.1878 by the 6 th Nawab
Mahabat Khanji II and completed in AD 1892 by the 7 th Nawab
Bahadur Khanji II. The total cost of building the monument was 3,
97,694.11.0 Annas (the currency of that period of time).

CONCLUSION-Going to my Family members home and

coming back Rajkot.
After all I went to my Aunts house which is located in
Keshod (near Junagadh) and had lunch with them which
included hot & sour dal, tasty rice, buttery milk, spicy
vegetable, yummy chapatti and soft dhokla. Then we
went to Junagadh from my Aunts house. From there we
came back to Rajkot, when I reached I had entrenched
feelings/emotions.
