Where is SACSAS ... ?

SACSAS was established

with a concept to
educate children and to
inculcate school going
habit in the remote
villages in Manipur, India
where there is no form
of education system.
SACSAS opened its 1st
school in 2003 in Laishoi.
Now, it has 5 schools in
remote areas.

Asha Zurich provides financial support (CHF 9785) to New

Dampi branch of SACSAS since 2010.
New Dampi educates 163 children with 6 teachers.
New Dampi conducts classes from Nursery to VI.
Asha Zurich provides administrative support to Maovam(85),
Wangoo(55), Loilamkot(83) and Laishoi(72) which were
funded by Asha Houston (28000 USD)

A site visit to all schools was done in August 2014 in a span of

four days by Mr. Shantikumar.

The enthusiastic kids were enthralled by summer camps,

St.Patriots Day, Teachers Day celebrations.

With a dropout rate as low as 4%, over 400 students have

graduated in 2013 and proceeded to formal schools.
The team is motivated
despite all the
social or economical
challenges they face.

Regular communication with the Mr. Surjit Kumar on progress,

issues, plans, etc.
Means to improve English proficiency among the kids through
story reading, etc.
Plan to maintain uninterrupted education due to conveyance
problems during rainy season.
