December News

Dear Parents,
December has been a busy month so far! We have been learning many new
and exciting things in all of the academic areas. Here are a few items to help us
through next week:

Decembers Character Education theme is Compassion. Our school has

partnered with scholastic and has been collecting pajamas for those in need.

This ends tomorrow.

Our Environmental Science Theme is Winter Ecology. Our class has been
talking about migration, hibernation and resist. Ask your child to tell you

about this!
In math we are learning new strategies to add double digit numbers. Ask

your child to explain the break-apart strategy.

Academic Acceleration letters will go home today. This runs from December

15-18 and then January 5-8.

Your child will have an envelope and paper in their folder explaining the
Santa Sale that takes place next week. We are signed up to go on December

18.
On Friday, December 19 we will be having a Polar Express Party. We will
watch the movie and enjoy hot cocoa and popcorn. If you would like to bring

in a treat you may. I will supply the hot cocoa and popcorn.
Holiday break begins on December 19 at 2:37 and school will resume on
January 5.
