Limitations

It is recommended to connect the OMT application to the RBS before

running a wizard. The OMT might stop responding if a wizard is aborted
during the connection phase.

System software and hardware requirements

2

System software requirements

Either of following operating systems:
Microsoft Windows XP
Microsoft Windows Vista
Microsoft Windows 7
The following additional software:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher

Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1 or higher. Windows Installer 3.1 will

be automatically installed if not present on the target system, with a
subsequent reboot required.
Administrator rights on the computer are required to install the OMT
program.

Hardware requirements
An IBM compatible PC with a processor that fulfils the operating
system requirements. For good performance it's recommended to
use a Pentium 4-compatible processor of at least 1 GHz.
At least 50 Megabytes available hard disk space.
At least 512 MB of RAM.
Mouse (optional)
A VGA graphic card.
1 serial port and serial cable (To be able to connect an OMT PC with
USB port to an RBS 2000 an USB-serial port adapter is needed).

Installing the OMT software

The OMT is installed by executing the installation file: \OMT\Setup.exe,

found on the OMT installation CD-ROM. All OMT software on the CD-ROM
is then installed to a specified, or default (C:\Program Files\Ericsson
AB\OMT_<XXX>), directory on the hard disk.
1. Insert the OMT installation CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Run the OMT installation program by browsing to and double
clicking the file \OMT\Setup.exe or by executing it from the Run...
alternative in the Start menu.
3. Follow the set-up instructions on the screen.
The installation creates a new program group called OMT where the OMT
icon can be found.
The OMT can now be started either by double-clicking on the icon or by
selecting the icon from the Start menu.
To uninstall one version of the OMT
1. Select Settings | Control Panel.
2. Click on Add/Remove Programs.
3. Select the OMT to be uninstalled and click on the Add/Remove
button.

When upgrading from an earlier version of the OMT, the new version will be
installed in another folder and a new icon will be added to the program
group.
