MPLAD

MPLAD was enhanced from Rs. 2Crores to


Rs.5Crores from financial year 2011-12
Initially MPLAD was under Rural Development
Ministry and Later tranferred to Ministry of
Statistcs and Programme Implementation in the
year 1994.
Objective of MPLAD is to create durable
community assests based on loacally felt needs
in the areas such as drinking water, primary
education, public health, sanitation, roads etc.

desiganates a depatment in the state as Nodal
Department for monitoring MPLAD. State Nodal
department follows up with Nodal District Collector and
Other Departments concerned for implementation.
Choice of Nodal District is to be informed to Ministry of
Stataitics and Programme Implementation and State
Government by the Member in prescribed form
MP will recommend works in prescribed form to the
District Collector. Administrative approval , execution ,
tendering as per State Govt. rules should be followed
by the District Collector.
