Description of how to implement in the class: The teacher will introduce the study of famous Americans using the
video on Harriet Tubman. The students will be asked to remember one important fact about Harriet Tubman. After
viewing the video the teacher will list all the student responses. The teacher will divide the students into groups. The
students will go to their assigned listening station and view the video again. Each group will return to the whole with
one or more fact about Harriet Tubman. Once there are enough facts for each student, the teacher will support the
students in creating a podcast using Audacity. When the podcast if finished, it will be added to the classroom website
for others to view.
Students will select one of the other famous people assigned to their grade level. As a group, the students will research

their famous person, collecting information and creating a podcast. All the podcast will be added to the classroom
website for others to view.
