Description of how to implement in the class:
The teacher will introduce the study of famous Americans using the video about Christopher Columbus from
brainpop.com. The students will be asked to remember one interesting fact about Columbus. After reviewing the video
the teacher will list the facts provided by the students. Then the teacher will assign groups and students will go to the
listening stations to view the video again, groups are asked to identify one more interesting fact. The new facts will be
added to the list. Students will be assigned one fact for the podcast, using audacity the teacher will support students
as they record there fact. The podcasts will be uploaded to the website for others to enjoy
Students will select one of the other national holidays to complete a podcast of their own. Students who select the

same holiday will work collaboratively to create the podcast. All podcasts will be uploaded to the classroom website.
