Emphasis is placed on those forms of communication most commonly associated with the world of work, education, research, journalism, consumerism, and social interaction. Students will develop skills by applying different language forms in a variety of situations. The approach is intensive and academic, The following potential work ‘comprises 65% of the grade: © Group work «Individual projects Multi-media Advertising Journalism Correspondence Social etiquette ‘Non-fiction Documentary This specialized course is intended for those students whose post-secondary goals may include the social sciences (psychology, sociology), research, journalism, ‘communication, engineering, trades, management, science, law, medicine, dentistry, business administration, computer science, nursing, accounting, agriculture, and retailing. ‘Transactional English is the language that explains, clarifies, informs, instructs and persuades, Students learn to process oral, visual, and wnitten information critically and efficiently, Students are required to research topics of personal interest and to present oral and written information in a clear, concise form. 30% Final Project/ Exam Please Note: 1.
