ENGL 2116

Skill-Gap Analysis
Bank of America Information Security Office
Purpose
To read over the requirements that are needed for this field of work and determine
the gaps between my technical skills and see how far they are from the
qualifications. There is no question that we live in a day in age where everything
we do is done with computers. Since our world relies heavily on computers there is
no better opportunity to find a job than one where learning ones way around a
keyboard is its primary requirement. With that being said my objective to seek an
internship or full time position in the area of Computing and Informatics.

Company Analysis
Bank of America is an enormous U.S multinational banking and financial services
corporation, has its headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is the second
largest bank holding company in the United States by assets. As of 2013, Bank of
America is the twenty-first largest company in the United States by total revenue. In
2010, Forbes listed Bank of America as the third biggest company in the world. It is
known that the banks acquisitions in 2008 made it the world's largest wealth
management corporation and a major player in the investment banking market. The
position I am currently seeking involves information security, with its office being a
member of the Business Information Security Officers or BISO for short
organization. Ive been encouraged to work with computers most of my life and
believe that a field where one must have a technical skill in computing would be
beneficial for me.
