The gain of the amplifier is affected by the capacitance associated with its circuit.

This
capacitance reduces the gain in both the low and high frequency ranges of operation. At
low frequencies, the reduction of gain is due to the coupling and bypass capacitors
selected for the network. These elements can no longer be replaced by short-circuit
approximation in low frequencies because of the increase in their reactance. They are
essentially short circuits in the mid and high bands. At high frequencies, the reduction of
gain is due to the frequency-dependent parameters of the small-signal equivalent circuit
of the device, the interelectrode (between-terminals) capacitances internal to the active
device, and the wiring capacitance between leads of the network. These capacitances are
essentially open circuits in the low and mid bands.
