Before, we have steam engine, we use other thing to work such as;

In the past we used horses for transportation, but now we use train.

In the past we drove a boat from human energy, but now we use
steam engine.

In the past we used human ability to create product, but now we


use machine from steam engine.

All of these are benefits that we can get from steam engine that
help us to develop our life styles.

Who is responsible for having


invented it?

Thomas Savery (1650-1715) was an English military engineer and


inventor. Thomas Savery had been working on solving the problem
of pumping water out of coal mines,

Thomas Newcomen (1663-1729) was an English blacksmith, who


invented the atmospheric steam engine, and improve Thomass
engine.

James Watt (1736-1819) was a Scottish inventor and mechanical


engineer, improve the previous engine.

When was it invented?


In 1698, the first early steam engine was patented by
Thomas Savory . Then the steam engine was improved by
Thomas Newcomen in 1712 by using heat and fuel. In 1785,
James Watt improved Newcomen's steam engine by using heat
and coal, which work more efficiently.

How did the invention change


society, industry, and the world?
