Introduction to Mushrooms at the Ranch, Sunday January 11,

Unlike flora and fauna walks, mushroom season is very short but
very sweet. The Cambrian pine forest is the best place in the
county to find mushrooms. While no mushrooms will be taken,
local naturalist Al Normandin will talk about each mushroom
found on the walk. Species will be identified and described as
edible, poisonous, or even hallucinogenic. Background info and
some of the history about mushrooms in general will be
discussed. To find out what mushrooms we may see,
download and bring to the walk the mushroom list for the Fiscalini
Ranch.
