Moment

Eyes imprisoned by a dark light___

Lips busy in futile uttering
Fail to wipe the images bright
Carve on mind by a shimmering stage,
Dry maple leaves,
Fading voices of running feet,
Lost laughs sailing on winds heaves,
In depths of heart reside, while time did flee.
One morn, while roses their petals spread;
Bound to the ground I stood upon,
Not conscious of sound heard, faces sketched,
I felt the whispers of a dreaded silence.
Those visions then came,
Which are beyond dreams domain; ___and fingers
Of time, clutching brutally the heart,
Attempted to soothe the soul___deprived
Of companions dwelling in loves shrine,
But on hearing a laugh nearby,
I came to the ground I was standing on
To my surprise I found that golden grain there,
Which my reveries fed upon,
Thus breathing on earth I fled;
Living in the moment I died.
