BIG DATA IN HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY

Problem Statement: Count of Doctor Patient Ratio

A report by WHO states that the number of doctors per 1000 population is less
than 1. Improved healthcare being one of the agendas in the MDP goals, the
need for new doctors is immediate. Through this project we would gather
information about the current state of doctor: patient using various data sources
and then using Big Data, we would analyse them and come up with a plan to
improve the count.
CAUSES: Some of the reasons for such condition may be due to:
1. Lack of medical colleges in India
2. Tendency seen amongst doctors to leave their country and pursue higher
studies else where
3. Lack of proper pay and government policies allow doctors to pursue a
lucrative career abroad.
4. Lack of proper infrastructure in certain areas, particularly in rural India,
often causes doctors to cluster in and around cities where they get a
proper set-up to cure patients. This leaves these regions in an even more
dismal state
