Drugs

A drug is any drug or active ingredient of a drug


element natural biological origin or derivative of it
by various methods, or artificially produced
substance that produces effects on the central
nervous system by changing the mood or producing
pleasure, and may have abuse potential.
This term is also used, especially in the field of
medicine and pharmacology, as a synonym of active
ingredient or drug, either by extending the concept
or because the literal translation of the English term
drug, which makes no distinction between the three
terms. The original WHO definition reflects this
generic use, however, the more specific definition
indicates that drug is the most appropriate term to
refer to substances used without medical purposes;
alter affective, cognitive and behavioral aspects; can
be self-administered; and may induce adaptive
biological states in its users.
