OELWEIN MAYOR FACES SEX ABUSE CHARGES

OELWEIN, IOWA- Jason Joseph Manus, Mayor of Oelwein, faces five counts of
second degree sexual abuse against two young girls after complaint
affidavits were filed on August 6.
The two girls and their families remain anonymous in their complaint. The
statement claims Manus sexually abused them throughout July of 2014 in his
residence in Oelwein. The report describes that Manus threatened the girls
lives if they told anyone about the abuse.
Manus bail of $65,000, originally $125,000, was reduced as four of the five
sexual abuse charges were reduced from second degree to third degree.
Manus court dates have not yet been released.
