If you did it as a group, how did you contribute?
Today, I decided the storyline of our film and how it will be set.
I came up with the main narrative structure; however we all
contributed specific parts. Moreover, we decided the locations
of where the film should be set; I chose the location of Iqras
previous house, where the fire began. The reason why I chose
this location is because it is reasonably close-by, and the area
is quiet and empty therefore it will create a sense of eeriness
amongst the viewers. The skill that I picked up was how to
collaborate and work as a team.
I presented the pitch to the whole class and we had received
positive feedback. There were a few unexpected questions
asked by the rest of the class, however I managed to
overcome these quicker than I expected. Overall, the pitch
presentation was successful, everyone liked the storyline and
thought we were really organised.
Today we decided the order of the shots were going to include
in our opening sequence and then produced a storyboard. We
then decided the length of the shots, ensuring that they
werent too long and they were short and effective.
I searched YouTube and found suitable background music for
our film, the sound clip of The Woman in Black was
suggested by my older sister as she thought it would adapt to
the whole idea of our storyline well. The search for the music
went better than I expected as they were found rather quickly
and were well incorporated with the scenes.
I decided which shots would be played with different parts of
the music. During this session, I learnt how to fade in, fade out
and crop sound clips using the programme; Final Cut Pro.
I drew the drawings (made by Iqra in the film) along with the
help of Sanjida. We decided not to get Iqra to draw these
drawings as they were inappropriate for young children.
The feedback that we received from our teacher was that
improvements needed to be made, perhaps by using a variety
of shot types when filming the scary house as it will seem
because the viewer to become disinterested if the voiceover is
