2. CATEGORIES FOR SUBMISSION


Open: Photographs of any type, and belonging to any genre, are acceptable as long as they
follow the stipulated rules for Montage 15.

3. SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

3.1. GENERAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

1. Only those entries which are in digital format shall be accepted.


2. An entrant can submit a maximum of 4 photographs in each category, bringing the total
maximum limit in both categories to 8. Any violation of this rule, by a particular entrant in
a particular category, shall lead to immediate cancellation of all entries made by that
entrant in that category.
3. All entrants are required to upload their entries to www.jupconline.com. No other form of
submission shall be entertained.

4. While uploading the photograph(s), the entrant is required to provide transaction details
(in case of online transfer) / Cheque number / Demand Draft number / Receipt
number (in case of cash payment). Failure to provide payment details might lead to
cancellation of the entry.
5. The entry fee, once paid, is non-refundable.
6. A successful upload of the entries to the website does not ensure their presence in the
judging procedure. Any entrant making a submission that is not accompanied by entry
fees / payment details shall be notified of the problem and asked to provide both.
Further non-compliance shall lead to cancellation of the entry.
The organisers reserve the right to cancel an entry outright, i.e. without notifying the

entrant, if the entry is made without entry fee.

3.2. IMAGE FILE SPECIFICATIONS

1. The file extension of the image must be .jpg or .jpeg.


2. Each image must have a dimension of 1024 pixels on the larger side (vertical or horizontal),
with a resolution of 300 ppi.
3. The entrant is advised to use the RGB Color mode for colour images or Grayscale mode for
monochrome images, both at 8 bits/channel, to ensure the optimum reproduction quality
under the projection conditions used in the judging procedure.
4. The size of each image must not exceed 800KB.

3.3. FILE NAME

Each submitted image file must be renamed in the following format:


Category_Full Name of Author_Title of Photograph_Serial Number of Photograph for

individual entry*.
Category_Abbreviated Name of Institute/Organisation_Full Name of Author_Title of
Photograph_Serial Number of Photograph for grouped entry*.
For example, if the 3rd entry by Swarbani Das in the Open category be titled The Victim,
the image file should be accordingly renamed as: Open_Swarbani Das_The Victim_3.jpg
Again, if the 4th entry by Rajat Basu in the Thematic category be titled Struggle, the image
file name should be: Thematic_Rajat Basu_Struggle_4.jpg
In case of a grouped entry, if the entrant Suraj Saha belonging to the organisation/institute

3.4. JUDGING PROCEDURE FOR EXHIBITION


1. The photographs will be judged by a panel of eminent and experienced professional
photographers, whose identities shall not be disclosed until after the completion of the judging
procedure.
2. The judging procedure involves 2 rounds.
3. If an entry qualifies for the 2nd round of judging, the entrant will be approached by the
organisers via e-mail for the corresponding higher resolution digital file(s) of the
qualifying photograph(s)
4. In case the entrant fails to provide the required higher resolution digital file(s) within the
stipulated time period mentioned in the email, then the selected entry/entries will be
disqualified.
5. The judges decision regarding acceptances and awards for all entries shall be final and
binding. No contests, regarding this matter, shall be entertained.

4. ENTRY FEE
4.1. INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPATION

Irrespective of the number of entries in a category (maximum 4 entries per category), the

entry fee for each entrant is:

4.2. GROUPED PARTICIPATION

A minimum of 5 entrants belonging to the same photography or educational

institute/organisation shall be able to participate at a reduced entry fee. Entrants interested in


participating as a group must send an e-mail to montage@jupconline.com with the following
data:
a) Name of the educational/photography institute/organisation, along with the abbreviated
form used in the file names.*
b) Number of entrants in the group.
c) Names of the entrants, along with the file names* of all the submissions of each
entrant.
d) Contact details of the institute, preferably including an official phone number, an official
e-mail id, address of the official website and/or Facebook page, and the postal
address.
e) A soft copy of at least 1 document to prove the genuineness of the institute.
It is advisable to send this e-mail at least 1 week prior to submission, in case verification
becomes necessary. Also, please note that a group need send only 1 such e-mail.

Each member of a grouped entry must pay his/her entry fees independently, so as to be able
to provide unique payment details, thus enabling smoother submission.
N.B.: Certificate(s) and award(s), if won by any entrant of a group, shall be made out to that
particular entrant, not to the group.

6. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY


1. The competition is open to all Indian citizens (both resident and non-resident).
2. All parts of an entry must originate as a single photograph (image-capture of object via
light sensitivity) made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired digitally
with the help of digital sensors. Photographs of mounted specimens are ineligible, as is
any form of manipulation that alters the truth of the photographic statement. No
techniques that add to, remove, relocate or replace any pictorial element(s), except by
cropping, are permitted. All adjustments of colour must appear natural. HDR, infrared
images are not allowed. However colour images may be converted to grayscale
monochrome.
3. By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his/her own and
permits the organisers to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for

copyright by a third party.

contain any content that is illegal, unlawful or otherwise in violation of applicable central,
state, provincial or local laws or regulations where the photographs were created or are
about to be exhibited.
5. No watermark must appear on the photograph, including the photographers name, title of the
photograph or in general any other information, not even a border.
6. A photograph will be accepted only if the entry fee has been submitted and the
submitted file meets all the guidelines stated in previous sections.
7. After first round judging, selected entrants will be notified and they must send high
resolution image(s) for the purpose of second round judging within the stipulated time,
mentioned in the email.
The submission of entries signifies the acceptance of the Terms and Conditions of
Entry. The organisers reserve the right to reject an entry at any stage of the

competition and even during the course of the exhibition if it is found to be in violation
of any of the aforementioned rules.

Disclaimer: Part or parts of the set of rules and regulations published may be modified at a later date

without prior notice, if the need arises. The organisers shall assume no responsibility for addressing any

distress, adversities or damages incurred by an individual due to such changes. However, no such change

will be introduced that might jeopardize an entry that has already been submitted.
