SAP NetWeaver Performance and Availability

During the discovery process, the mapping of monitored elements is created, based
on your SAP landscape. If you have both J2EE and R/3 stacks configured, the toplevel SAP NetWeaver Performance and Availability container contains both J2EE and
R/3 containers.

Top-level SAP NetWeaver Performance and Availability

application classes
The SAP NetWeaver Performance and Availability application classes monitor IT
components. Figure 5 illustrates the visual hierarchy of the top-level SAP NetWeaver
Performance and Availability application classes, which are listed in Table 5.

For details regarding the J2EE stack, see J2EE stack application classes on
page 24.

For details regarding the R/3 stack, see R/3 stack application classes on page 26.

Host

Host Is Up
Provides information about a host machine on
which a J2EE instance, R/3 instance, or stand-alone
Response Time
database resides. The name of the host machine
appears as the name of the container.

Host Information

Provides information about a host machine on

which an R/3 instance or stand-alone database
resides. To collect stand-alone database host
information, SAPOSCOL must be running on the
database host, and configured in the CCMS for the
host.

IP Address

Provides statistical information about a host

machine on which an R/3 instance or stand-alone
database resides. To collect stand-alone database
host metrics, SAPOSCOL must be running on the
database host, and configured in the CCMS for the
host.

J2EE stack application classes

The J2EE container contains the J2EE Database application class, as well as the J2EE
Central Services container, and a container for each of the J2EE Instances that are
discovered. Figure 6 illustrates the visual hierarchy of the J2EE stack application
classes, which are listed in Table 6.

R/3 stack application classes

The R/3 container contains the R/3 Database application class, the R/3 Central
Services container, and a container for each of the application servers that are
discovered. Figure 7 illustrates the visual hierarchy of the R/3 stack application
classes, which are listed in Table 7.

SAP NetWeaver Simulator

The SAP NetWeaver Simulator application class is used for troubleshooting
purposes, at the instruction of BMC Support.
The SAP NetWeaver Simulator application class contains the following parameters:
Application Collection Status, Alert Applications Loaded, and Simulator Enabled.
When the Simulator is active it creates a container named SAP Event Simulator, with
branches for each event type (labeled Queue) containing the following parameters:
Last Execute Result, Last Execute Result Header, and Data Rows.
For more information about the SAP NetWeaver Simulator, see Configuring SAP
NetWeaver Simulator on page 56.
