Reflection

Journal
I have learned so much and have
advanced in my nursing skills since
the first semester of nursing school.
When I started nursing school I was
working as a CNA so I had some basic skills going in but I have
come a long ways as a fourth semester nursing student. I took
the LPN NCLEX and have been working as a LPN for eight
months. Starting the second year of school, I felt like I had a
much deeper understanding of the material and skills we
covered. My clinical and work experience in the past eight
months have provided me with diverse experience in many
different fields of nursing. It has also allowed me to work on
my leadership skills by orientating other LPNs at work as
required. As I work through my fourth and final semester of
school I feel much more confident and competent as a nurse
and feel like my clinical and practical skills are preparing me
for a new role as a registered nurse. More than just nursing
skills, I have learned to multi-task and manage my time in
order to meet all program requirements.
