Case Study 1 - OSPF

Use Case Study 1 OSPF Pod Reservation in Netlab

Follow instructions on this document
You must use the Template posted in Blackboard for your Case Study documentation that you submit.

Topology
Note: Netlab topology may differ slightly from the diagram below. If it does you may make
changes to accommodate. It is suggested to begin lab by verifying the physical topology of
the Netlab POD.

Objectives

Plan, design, and implement the International Travel Agency network shown in the diagram and
described below.

Verify that all configurations are operational and functioning according to the guidelines.

Part 1 - Requirements
The International Travel Agency needs its core network set up for OSPF with the specifications indicated in
the diagram and listed below. Design, configure, and test a network that meets all the following requirements:
You must Use the OSPF Case Study AE Cuatro Router Pod Reservation in Netlab for this lab. Remember
to include these steps and your commands in your documentation as per the template.

1. Use the addressing scheme shown in the diagram.

2. Configure R3 as a Frame Relay Switch
3. Point to point PVCs with subinterfaces will be used between HQ Hub and the Spoke routers
4. Configure OSPF with the networks shown in the diagram.
5. Configure the OSPF backbone area to be on Loopback0 on HQ.
6. Configure the Frame Relay subnets as point-to-point subinterfaces, with the link between HQ and
East in area 100, and the link between HQ and West in area 300.
7. Configure area 300 as an NSSA.
8. Configure the router East loopback interfaces to be in area 200. Summarize this area with the most
efficient summary.
9. Redistribute the loopback network on router West into OSPF.
10. Create virtual links as necessary for full connectivity.
11. Make sure that all loopback interfaces are advertised with the correct subnet mask.

Part 2 - Perform the following verification commands at the end of the lab
On each router you must perform the following commands. Please execute them in the order shown on each
router (except the FR Switch). Netlab will automatically log all outputs of these commands. Also the output of
these will go in your Case Study documentation that you turn in.
# show frame-relay map
# show ip route
# show ip ospf neighbors
# copy run start
