The Educational Achievement Report allowed me to experience administering the
Woodcock Johnson III to a student, and to provide a full analysis and explanation of the students results. The CEC standards connected to this artifact were 1. Learner Development and Individual Learning Differences, 4. Assessment, and 6. Professional Learning and Ethical Practice. While completing this artifact I had the opportunity to experience CEC 1 Learner Development and Recognize Individual Learning Differences. While analyzing the results of the test, I was able to determine the grade level the student was on, in several different content areas. Doing this allowed me to recognize where their strengths and weaknesses lied, and what they needed to become a more successful learner. Throughout completing this artifact I was able to gain a greater understanding of CEC 4 Assessment. I went through the process of administering the assessment, scoring the assessment, and explaining the results of the assessment. During this process I learned a great deal about CEC 6 Professional Learning and Ethical Practice by giving the assessment to a student and reporting the results in an accurate way. There were procedures to the assessment that needed to be followed, and doing this allowed it to be valid. My future students will benefit from my mastery of the standards reflected in this artifact because I will have the knowledge needed to assess them and help determine their abilities and needs. I will be aware of doing this in a professional manner and follow all procedures needed. Since I had the chance to experience this, I feel more confident for doing it in the future, which will beneficial to both my students and myself.
