Your 8th grade teachers will recommend next years core courses based on a variety of
indicators including grades and standardized test scores.

To assist in your planning, circle the core courses recommended by your 8 th grade teachers.
Questions regarding a recommendation? Consult your current teacher in that subject regarding the reason for his/her
recommendation.
To request a level change (for example: College Prep/Regular to Honors/AP OR Honors/AP to Regular/College Prep) contact
the WV Department Chair of that subject area by February 2nd to discuss a change in course placement (see WVHS website for
contact information). Department Chairs will communicate approved level changes directly to WV Guidance.
All core courses are full-year classes unless otherwise noted.

Go to https://homeaccess.ipsd.org/HomeAccess/ and log in using your parents log in information.


1. Click on the Classes icon across the top of the page.
2. Select the Requests tab
3. Teacher Recommendations will be indicated on this page and cannot be changed.
4. Click an Edit button to enter a recommendation

Place a checkmark in the course(s) being requested


Click the Save button

Confirm that Total Credits is 7.0.

2015-2016 Course Requests will be handed out to all 8th grade students the week of May 15th.
Verify that these courses are correct. These are the courses that will be on your freshman
schedule.
Between May 26th and May 29th, requests to change an elective course must be submitted to
the Freshman Class House at WV using the Schedule Change Request Form available online.
Staffing and sectioning decisions were based on your original course selections. REQUESTS FOR
CHANGES WILL BE PROCESSED ON A SPACE AVAILABLE BASIS OVER THE SUMMER.
Reminders about these deadlines will be sent out.
Schedules will be available at freshmen orientation and viewable through Home Access in midAugust.
