Dear Prayer Partner & Friend,

It has been said that God does not do
anything but by prayer. If that is true then
this newest TV series - our 10th - is one
of the most crucial yet. It has been in the
planning stage for years and Suzette
Hattingh has always been on the list to be
our first guest to start the series. Having
interviewed Daniel Kolenda, new head of
CfaN, it has been a privilege to see behind the scenes - the prayer ministry
that was behind Reinhard Bonnke for
almost 20 years. Suzette also answered a
number of hot potato questions such
as Healed or Not Healed?. What a joy
that we can share these face-to-face interviews with leaders around the world
from so many walks of life and languages.
This month will be another tremendous
opportunity to meet with film and TV
colleagues from across the globe. Each
year for 5 days producers, directors, TV
network heads, writers and suppliers
meet to share our common faith as well
as praying for one another and hearing
what is happening from Timisoara to
Toronto. The first time I attended 5 years
ago I couldnt believe that there were so
many others doing the same crazy

thing that I was. It was so encouraging to

hear of similar paths that so many of us were
on. Many of us keep in touch during the
year and sometimes meet with each other
informally. Iron sharpens iron as the
Scripture says. Last year, for the first time
in years, there was representation from Russia so I was able to try out my meagre
vocabulary. They are now working on promoting one of our films. Another year, since
I had one of our cameras along, an African
representative asked me to film part of a
music video - on the streets of Romania.
This was right in the middle of our tour of
the city.
In preparation for broadcast across China
we are attempting to clear a great deal of our
productions in post-production. That
means that you will begin to see a great deal
of new material being advertised here. It is
our hope and prayer that more of our Partners would take advantage of pre-release
copies of our programmes and films even
before they hit the airwaves. This helps us
financially and gives you the first look!

lovingly by a committed staff.
We also will be connecting you with the movers and shakers of
China - in politics, economy, education, media, churches and
Charities.

practice of prayer. It
should actually be the
starting point for any
leader. A ministry should
be well soaked with prayer
before attempting to set it
alight with the fire of the
Holy Spirit.
Its often been said 7
days without prayer make
one weak. How true that
is. On our cover is a quote
from Alfred, Lord Tennyson about the importance
of prayer. Governments
have been been built on
the foundation of prayer.
In previous years it was
only ruthless dictators and
despots who would consider leaving daily public
prayer out of the running
of a nation.
Yet, are there are actually
Principles of Prayer?
We are not talking about
magic formulas or sure
fire fixes for instantaneous

answers. If there are not principle of prayer than

faith is a random series of acts. Jesus continually
taught the principles of the Christian life - stewardship, prayer, faith, love, etc. Through His
parables he took principles as seeds and planted
them in the lives of His disciples. The same is true
today. After spending time with people such as
Suzette Hattingh I have seen - in practice - that
it is not trial and error but listening to the voice
of the Holy Spirit through the Word of God that
leads to answered prayer. In the TV series Principles of Prayer we will be meeting and interviewing Believers from all walks of life, from
various corners of the globe and various ways of
sharing the principles. From farmers to clergy,
authors to humanitarian aid workers our journey
will take us to every strata and facet of this
activity that we simply call prayer.
The disciples of Jesus saw His prayer in action

and begged Him Lord teach is to pray. They knew that the power of effective
prayer can move mountains. They knew that it flowed out of a relationship with
God. When Jesus taught them to pray it was unlike the hollow sounding mantras that were coming out of the mouths of most of the religious leaders. They
needed an audience. With Jesus he, many times, spent the whole night at the top
of a mountain to pray alone to His father. That was so alien to religious thinking.
Praying with no audience? Praying because we wanted not because we had to?
Suzette Hattingh shared so many principles that the Holy Spirit and the Word of
God taught her. She also shared how that, when working with Evangelist
Reinhard Bonnke, she would not import prayer warriors. Instead she birthed
them. She trained people on site the principles of prayer. In that way not only
were new Believers left behind after each meeting but prayer warriors were in
place trained in Gods plan for prayer.

At the end of each programme of Principles of Prayer we are asking each guest
to pray for our viewers. Many are in nations where it is illegal or uncomfortable
to be a Believer. In others it is so comfortable and free to worship and pray that
people take it for granted. This is an even more threatening state of affairs.
More and more people are realising that it takes more faith not to believe in
prayer, not to believe in God, not to believe in creation, not to believe in an
intelligently designed universe than it does to believe. One of the leading opponents of the Bible and creation was pushed on the matter of intelligent design.
With an overwhelming array of evidence from leading scientific scholars he finally
raised a cheeky white flag of defeat. Yes, I believe that intelligent creatures from outer space - designed the creation around us. But I KNOW that they,
themselves, were not intelligently designed. It likes the Sunday Scholl trained
boy who was told by his teacher that the children of Israel crossed the Red Sea in
a shallow spot of it. The boys faith-filled reply? Why teacher, thats an even
more amazing miracle because it means that Pharaoh's army all drowned in
shallow water!

As one can clearly see the year

2011 has been a year of a great
deal of ministry and filming
throughout Germany. On going
into a city or country I usually
like to do a great deal of research
to understand the background of
the people that the particular
churches and ministries are
reaching out to. The city of
Frankfurt has quite an extensive
history. Zeroing in on just one
span of that story and a few
features of the city is fascinating.
CfaN (Evangelist Reinhard
Bonnkes ministry and now that
of Daniel Kolenda) had its main
worlwide HQ there. Now Suzette Hattinghs ministry is
based there. There are quite a
few growing and strong churches there. In fact, one of historys
most famous ministers later became known as St. Nicholas.
Famous for his giving ministry

he is more commonly known as the

caricatured Santa Claus or Father
Christmas. A building in the city (see
pages 6-7) was used to make the infamous Zyklon B gas used in the Nazi
death chambers where so many millions were murdered. In fact, that
same building became General (later
President) Eisenhowers command
post. Still later it was the European
HQ of the CIA. Another simple house
was where Anne Frank was born before she moved with her family to the
famed house in Amsterdam and wrote
the worldwide bestseller known as
The Diary of Anne Frank. Today
the city is where the Euro comes from
(the seat of the European Central
Bank) and is the largest financial centre in continental Europe. Having
been the centre of the Rotschild family
since the 18th century that is not too
surprising.
