Period of development consists of different milestones in language, cognitive, physical, socialemotional, and moral reasoning that children gradually

develop during different stages of


development. The following subpages consist of Prenatal, Infancy and Toddlerhood, Early
childhood, Middle childhood, and Adolescence; in each subpages, there is a brief explanation
describing what children do during each stage of developmental milestone which consist of two
physical, language, cognitive, social emotional, moral reasoning/self-regulation. Two signs of
atypical development within each period of development. One cultural factor, one strategy on
how families can influence a childs learning during each stage of development and two playbased strategies that families can use to influence a childs learning.
