Re: Janine Henley
To Whom It May Concern:
1 am a former employer of Ms. Janine Henley and | am pleased to recommend her to
you. As an attendant for my autistic son, Raymond, janine regularly went above and
beyond her duties to keep him calm and productive. She also worked particularly
hard at building a relationship with Raymond, which was initially very difficult.
While she worked for us, Janine was also completing her undergraduate degree at
the University of Mary Washington, She was never late and only missed work when
sick. However, her most outstanding ability was her ability to develop a working
relationship with our son, Raymond is verbal, but developmentally delayed. He is
also intelligent, which Janine quickly realized and incorporated in helping us teach
Raymond, She was willing to learn and administer any therapy we were able to
teach her. In the summer of 2013 she administered an educational and therapy
program for Raymond including occupational therapy, vision therapy, art history,
computer coding and exercise. She was wonderful at helping Raymond work at
these goals.
Janine also attended the Autism Society's annual convention in Pittsburgh with us in
2013. She attended several courses and learned a number of behavioral strategies
that are effective for people with autism as well as those who develop typically. She
incorporated those strategies into her time with Raymond throughout the
remainder of the summer.
‘We would gladly employ Janine again if the opportunity arose. She was a wonderful
employee and a great friend to Raymond. Her work habits and thoroughness were
excellent, and have become the standard to which we hold our current attendants.
She is an excellent addition to any team, and we wish her all the best.
Sincerely,
ALIA
