To Whom it May Concern,
| am writing on behalf of Janine Henley regarding her desire to acquire a job in the field of
education. Ms. Henley was a student teacher in my fifth grade class during the first semester of
the school year. She came, on average, two days per week and got to know my class well. 1
teach two classes of 25 students each in the subject areas of math and science. She was able to.
see all aspects of my day to include meetings and typical administrative procedures. She was
also responsible for teaching several lessons over the course of her time with my class. | was
able to observe many traits and characteristics that | feel make her a strong contender for a
first year teaching position.
Ms. Henley was an enthusiastic presence in my class. She interacted with the students and
built a strong rapport with them which helped create an environment where the students could
learn from her. Any time the students had questions, Ms. Henley addressed their issues and
helped them find solutions. She always presented herself in a respectable and professional
manner befitting a teacher of upper elementary school children.
Ms. Henley developed and taught a combined science and math unit over the course of a week.
‘She developed strong lessons which challenged and led the students to discover the concepts
of graphing in creative and engaging ways. She took direction from me easily and incorporated
suggestions as necessary. Ms. Henley was very easy to work with and | would recommend her
for a position with your district as you see fit.
Ihave no doubt that Ms. Henley will continue to grow into a strong, effective teacher. She
would be an asset to any teaching team. Should you have any further questions, please don’t
hesitate to contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
)
