95 Grovers Mill Road Plainsboro, NJ 08536 April 28, 2014 To whom it may concern; Over the past three months, I have been impressed by Mr. Walshs initiative and work ethics. He is truly a natural teacher. I believe that he will be a master teacher of mathematics. Prior to teaching his unit, he worked with small groups of students reinforcing the lessons that were taught in class. Mr. Walsh used a great deal of positive reinforcement and gained the respect of his students. He was a great resource to the students. The students that he worked with demonstrated overall improvement in their work. Mr. Walsh arrived to school each day at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the school day to prepare for the class. His lessons were well thought out and varied in order to keep the students interested. He reflected immediately on his instruction and met the objectives we planned on accomplishing. Mr. Walsh was flexible and adapted his lessons accordingly. He differentiated lessons and student expectations based on population (specifically period one had high achieving math students whereas period 2 was an inclusion classroom that included struggling learners). Mr. Walsh effectively utilized a question based teaching style. He listened and discussed constructive criticism. Mr. Walsh demonstrated outstanding classroom management. The students clearly knew his classroom expectations. Mr. Walshs enthusiasm for teaching was clear and evident in all that he did in the classroom. The students were extremely saddened to see him leave and asked that he come back to visit. Mr. Walsh met with our buildings administrators because they had heard so much of his outstanding accomplishments in the classroom from both students in his charge and cooperating teacher. Rarely have I had the pleasure of working with such a dynamic and innovative individual.
