The Househusband

By Elton Camp
Rob and Meg had been wed a year
When a development brought cheer
As the prudes used to say
Meg was in a family way
Both had jobs well-paying, secure
What to do, they werent sure
No stranger should provide care
One of them wanted to be there
Since Meg was paid a good bit more
The dad, Rob, took on the joyous chore
From what some folks said,
He found sexism wasnt dead
Stroller in the park was worse
Hey, honey, forget your purse?
Tired of hearing it, one fine day
Rob found how to keep it at bay
Now when he goes out for a stroll
Hes a real man, onlookers extol

No catty remarks anymore
