Analysis of Results:
The experiment was done in order for the students to understand and be familiar with the
functions of the Microsoft Excel. For this experiment, the students were able to make matrices
and manually add, subtract and multiply two matrices. The experiment was also done using the
math functions of the MS Excel.
For the first part of the experiment, the students made two 3x3 matrices and manually encode the
formulas for adding, subtracting, and multiplying the two matrices. This was done through
typing the formulas on the formula bar. The formula for the determinants of the two matrices was
also manually encoded.

For the second part of the experiment, the students were asked to use the mathematical functions
in MS Excel in order to compute for the sum, difference, product, determinants and the inverse
of the two 3x3 matrices. Using the functions installed in the MS Excel is much easier since we
just have to click what type of operation will be used and it will perform the selected operation.

Conclusion:
Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet which can be used for using mathematical operations. It can be
used as a calculator. There are ways in which MS Excel can be used for mathematical operations.
First is that we can encode the formulas manually and second, is using the installed operations in
Excel. It is much easier to use the installed operations of Excel since by clicking the desired
operation and the selected inputs, Excel will perform the operation.
