Mr. Piatak,

For the Pride Paper I am writing about a variety of different radiology careers because radiology
was fascinating to me and I was interested in the technology that the professionals use in order to
help people. My mom was the person who showed me the radiology field because she is a social
worker and she has always thought that I had a natural talent of performing well under pressure
and helping people. So my mom signed me up for these medical career workshops that exposed
me to a wide variety of different professions which is where I was exposed to the radiology field.
I did very minimal research on the profession after the workshop but it sparked a lightbulb to do
more research by doing my Pride Paper on the career. When I first started doing research on the
profession to double check and make sure this was the topic and career I wanted to cover, I found
a lot of research that I fell in love with which kept me interested and motivated to do my research
paper.

I plan to shadow the Mecklenburg Radiology Associates in downtown Charlotte to have them
help me in the process of creating my senior Pride Product. There is a process that I need to go
through before the radiology associates can mentor me, since the professionals work in a
hospital. I need to get cleared for a bunch of shots and complete an online module before the
Radiology Associates can even consider being my mentor. My mom works for Presbyterian
hospital so she will be able to speed up the acceptance process more quickly due to her
professional connections. When I finally do get mentored by a radiologist I plan to have them
guide me into how I create the product and what I should even create. I have very high
expectations of the radiologists and I pray that they have the knowledge and creativity to help me
come up with an idea of what to do for my final product. My product will take a minimum of 12
hours to complete as I will use information from my mentor, my interviewee, and my paper.

I understand that plagiarism is not tolerable and I will accept a zero on my paper whether I
plagiarize intentionally or unintentionally.

Sincerely,

Nicolas C. Miller
