Description of how to implement in the class: The students will go on a nature walk and find a
caterpillar. The students will create a home for the caterpillar and observe the butterfly for several
days. The students will record their observations. The students will then use Timeliner to document
what happens at each stage of the life cycle for butterflies.
Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi): This activity is a LoTi level 3 (Infusion). Students are
using technology and they are creating a timeline but they have little input in determining their own
activities.
Description of the sample BBPT file provided *: I have included an example template that the
students will use to create their timeline of the life cycle of a butterfly.
