meaning they dont appear too young for
my target audience, nor does it make it
look less like a rock magazine.

doesnt clash with the yellow background of
the magazine, meaning it stands out without
making the magazine look too young for the
target audience.

I have added a final cover line which tells

the target audience about a competition.
The orange contrasts the rest of the page,
meaning it will interest the target audience
and they will want to read the magazine in
order to find out how to win, as this is the
first edition, the competition is to allow the
reader to get involved with the magazine.

Finally, I have added an issue number, date

line, price and barcode. All of these things
follow codes and conventions of a
magazine, which means it looks more
professional. It also allows the target
audience to see if they can afford it, and to
know when the magazine came out.

Contents Page:

First, I have added the masthead to my

contents page, then written contents so the
reader knows what page they are on. This is
following codes and conventions of
magazines because it means the reader is
focused on the fact that the content is
related to this magazine name.

Next, I have added the titles of each type of

article that is in the whole of my magazine.
This allows the target audience to find what
they like about the content of a rock
magazine and can see if there is anything
that appeals to them, making them want to
read on. It also makes the contents page
more organised.

I have added pictures that will refer to later

articles. The purpose of this is so that if the
reader recognises there artists they can
find the page that they are interested
much faster, than just trying to read
through everything, which will make them
bored.

I have added numbers and a box which

explains a bit more about the picture. This
means the target audience will want to find
out the content behind the comment under
the picture, making them more likely to
want to read on.

I have added a letter from the editors,

because a convention of magazines is to
have a note from the editor at the start. As
this is a first edition, I have done it from the
whole team, explaining how the magazine
came to be.
I have now added article titles and
explanations of the articles underneath the
main headings of types of articles. This is
so the reader can see what topics include
without having to look through the whole
magazine to find something interesting.

I have added numbers next to each article

explanation, so when or if it appeals to the
reader, the know where in the magazine to
look for it.

I have added the title to my article. This

will draw the reader in as it is contrasting
colours, however it links to the front
cover and the rest of the article.
I have added the main picture I want for
my double page. It is of the whole band
with the book from the cover, so there is a
direct link.

Double Page:

I have added a grab quote to the main

image to interest the reader.

I have added the entire article into the

page, with the questions in red as this
links to the book.

I have added a smaller picture to give

the article more interest.

I have added the masthead

and page numbers at the
bottom of the page. This is a
convention so the reader
remembers what they are
reading and can find the page
for this article.
