a Stationary Position
Preparation
1. maintains wide base of
support
2. stands sideways (i.e., with
opposite shoulder to
hitting hand toward the
target)
3. keeps eyes on the ball

4. moves striking hand and
arm backward, away from
ball, and then swings
them forward to strike
through the ball with an
open hand
Follow-Through
5. follows through with
the striking arm/
hand, keeping them
approximately horizontal,
in the direction of the
target

the non-kicking foot
beside the ball
3. swings kicking leg from
hip through an arc toward
the ball
4. quickly extends knee as
contact is made with the
ball
