ORIGIN OF COMPUTERS
-The first antecedent is considered a calculating machine invented
in 1642 by Pascal.
-In the 18th century, Joseph-Marie Jacquard created the punch
cards.
-In 1822, Charles Babbage created the Difference engine, and
eleven years later, he designed the analytical engine.

-In 1932, Vannevar Bush created the Differential analyser

FIRST GENERATION (1945-1958)


1945: John Eckert and John Mauchly crated the first computer with
Vacuum tuve called ENIAC.

1949: Maurice Wilkes created the EDSAC.

1950: Echerk and Mauchly crated the first electric


computer of management, the UNIVAC.

SECOND GENERATION (1959-1965)


-The second generation of computers appeared with the replacement
of vacuum tubes by transistors.
-The first computers were the IBM 7070 in 1960 by IBM and the UNIVAC
1107 in 1962 by Sperry Rand.

-During this generation the magnetic disk, the punch card readers and the
high-speed printers were introduced.

THIRD GENERATION (1966-1970)


-The main feature of this generation was the use of the integrated circuit.
-The Burroughs B-2500 was one of the first to include integrated circuits.

- Inthelate 60's, the minicomputers emerged, as transition element


between the third and fourth generations.

FOURTH GENERATION (1971-1980)
