FourfifteenAMthatsthetimemydaystartedonTuesday,January27,2015.Fouranda
halfhoursthatshowlongthetrainridewastoOttawa.Fourhundredandfiftythatsthe
numberofkilometersfromTorontotoOttawa.Asinterestingasthesenumbersare,themore
interestingonesaretheoneswedontknow,suchashowmuchmoneydiditcostandhow
manyhoursofplanningdidittaketomakethistrippossible?AnothernumberIcannotgive
youis:whatisthevalueofthistriptousasstudents?Evenwithouttheseimportantnumbers,
Idlikeyoutopassonabigthankyoutooursponsors,ViaRailCanadaandTheBreakfast
ClubsofCanada.Idalsoliketothankyouforinvitingusonthistripandforspendingtheday
withus.

ItwasgreatthatwevisitedtheParliamentHillaspartofBlackHistorymonth,wetouredthe
building,wewenttotheRCMPstablesandhadanamazingexperienceingeneral.Itwas
definitelyatripwewillallrememberfortheyearstocome.Itwasbeneficialtomebecause
whenourtourguidewastellingusabouttheparliamentithelpedmerememberinformationI
learnedingrade5,suchasthedifferentplacesinparliamentorthedifferentrooms.We
actuallygottoattendthequestionandanswerperiodintheHouseofCommons,therethe
LiberalpartyandtheNDPSaskedquestionsandtheConservativesanswered.Itwas
interestingtoseehowtheyactedandwhattheyweresaying,althoughIdidfallasleep,butin
mydefenceIdidwakeupat4AM.Onethingthatwasreallyamazingwasthelibraryitwas
reallycoolanddesignedwell.Sooverall,itwaskindoflikeaninteractiverevisionforme.I
alsolearnednewthingsaboutthegovernmentandparliamenttoo.

ThetriptoOttawawasdefinitelyamemorableone,soonceagain,thankyouMs.Jean
Augustineforinvitingusonthiswonderfultrip.
