The NorZone 2015 Westfield FFA Cup draw was concluded
last night with four Darwin based teams competing in the first preliminary round. This national knock out competition has captured the imagination of Australian football fans and sports fans alike. In local proceedings, Casuarina FC have been paired against newcomers Shamrock Rovers, followed by 2014 NorZone champions Darwin Olympic who will be out to thwart University Azzuris aspirations of progressing to round 2. On Saturday 28th March, Larrakia Park will be abuzz with these inaugural Westfield FFA Cup matches scheduled to kick off at 5pm and 7.30pm. Meanwhile local NorZone Premiere League teams Palmerston FC and Mindil Aces will be waiting in the wings, as they drew round 1 byes but will play in round 2 against the winners of the above matches. Booraloola FC, the 2014 Cyclones Cup champions, also drew a bye in round 1 but will make the 12 hour road trip into Darwin for their April 22nd round 2 match against Hellenic AFC.
