What is a word processor?

A word processor is an application program or the software that lets the user enter and edit text
on a computer quickly and efficiently. Although the software cannot improve the content of a
document, a word processor does provide the tools to make it visually appealing, that is, to give
it style. You can buy a word processor alone or as part of a suite like Microsoft Office Word and
the Sun Microsystems Star Office.

Though the command names of word processor may differ, the principles are practically the same.
