The American Dream is Dead, and Good Riddance P.A.R.T.Y.
Purpose- The purpose of this article is to inform the public that the original American Dream is
no longer in effect.
Audience- The targeted audience for this article is for those who are aspiring to go out into the
world and begin their lives as their own people, more specifically young adults who are just
leaving High School and College
Rhetoric- At one point in the article, the author states that according to a book,Chasing the
American Dream, USA Today calculated that subsidizing the American Dream sots
approximately 130,000$ annually, meaning the dream is only within reach for about 1 in 8
American families, thus, explaining how logos was used by stating statistics from a credible
source. Using this rhetoric device allows for the author to explain his point of view extensively
and convince the audience just how out of reach the American Dream really is, due to the fact
that a six figure outcome is only available to those who are very wealthy.
T-The author of this statement claims that the old American Dream, where many wanted to have
land and wealth, is not necessarily applicable to everyone, and it is because of this that many
American Citizens are having different versions of the American Dream.
Your Analysis-The author is this article uses logos with statistics and gives example of how the
