Communication Plan of the Comprehensive Classroom Technology Plan

Part 2: Blog

Being able to communicate to your child/ children teacher without being face
to face is the next best thing to sending emails, writing letters/notes or even
making a telephone call to their teacher. There are many ways to open the
lines of communication with your child teacher by using the school web site,
class web site, email, e-pal or introducing yourself at the first day of school.
By establishing other ways of communication will ensure the teacher that
you are involved in your child learning process and it shows that you are on
top of things this will give them a great impress of you. To check on your
child/children progress in the classroom, lesson, assignments and in their
grades will give you a little insight on the assignments and the lesson plans.
Using social media such as Twitter feeds, Facebook pages and text
messages sent in multiple languages school staff members are giving
parents instant updates news and information about their childrens
schools.(Nora Flaming) This is when technology can play a major role in a
very busy parent or single parent life. Not only can the parents benefit from
using the class web site the students can benefit from using this too. Being
able to communicate with their teacher can help them in the long run if they
are having a problem with the assignment(s). The students also benefit from
using technology devices to communicate with their peers and collaborating
with each other sharing information that they have gather for the
assignment. Which in turn help them gain a deeper understanding of the
course material and creating new knowledge to achieve their goal. Technology
can provide many different ways to enhance learning among other things like
another way of communication. I personally believe that it is much easier to
use technology as a form of communication with the outside world as well as
inside of the classroom. Teachers are adopting to use technology to
communicate with their students and the parents of their students. Because
as we all know life can become a little hacked at times and we do not have
all the time in the world to handle everything in one day. Using technology in
the classroom is idea for the teachers, parents and students this way
because everybody can all go to one place to get all of the information that
they may need. Technology is intertwined with every part of our daily lifes
we all some kind of a technical device at our fingertips. In the 21st century
children today gravitate towards technology if your child/children head
straight for the video games, i-pad, laptops, or to their Facebook page after
school as all children do and some adults as well. So many teachers are a
very leery about using social media site in their classrooms because of the
danger that is on the internet. Some teachers use it to enhance
communication with their students and the students parents according to
Joe Sullivan it is possible to engage students with the social networking tools

they love while keeping them safe from online dangers? He said absolutely,
say (Facebook chief security officer Joe Sullivan). Creating a Social Media
Group page for any subject that youre teaching or for an specific class
project this is a place where you all can go and communicate about the
subject. With a world of information at their fingertips nowadays, it seem like
kids should be finding it easier than ever to succeed in school. One of the
programs No Children Left Behind targeted by NCLB is title ll-D-1&2Enhancing Education through Technology (Ed Tech). The goal is to improve
students academic achievement through the use of technology (The Facts
About, 2002). The plan is to teach children how to effectively integrate the
technology available to them to improve students achievement and to
become technological literate by the 8th grade. Technology should enhance
learning there is no value in just access to it but more important how it used
(Jamshed N. Lam). However as more classrooms invest in the latest
technology, that their test scores should be sky rocketing but a lot of these
students test scores are remaining the same, which is bringing the
effectiveness into question. Now I am not blaming the test score on the
teacher or the technology devices that they are using to enhance learning
but Im saying that the students should be gaining a better education
because of the technology devices they are using as a learning tool. Yes
everybody know that you have to be self-involved in your own education.
70% of what you are going to be learning comes from you and the other 30%
is coming from your teachers and other faculty members.
