Chasing Lincolns Killer

by James L. Swanson
Booktalk!
As President Abraham Lincoln
delivers victory speeches in 1865,
an angry John Wilkes Booth begins
making plans. His original one is to
kidnap Lincoln and hold him hostage.
When that fails, Booth hatches an
assassination plot. But he must
persuade friends and sympathizers
to help plan his escape and ways to
evade capture.
After Lincoln is killed, an hour-byhour search begins as many people
encounter Booth as he tries to
escape. A terrifying chase through
Washington, D.C. streets, Maryland
swamps, and Virginia forests begins!
