I am writing to recommend Ms. Brittany Devane as an excellent candidate for a position in your
organization. Ms. Devane is a student of mine in the Business Administration degree program at Cape
Fear Community College and I am familiar with her work habits and intellect. I can say with confidence
that you will not be disappointed in her ability to fulfill your needs.
As a student Ms. Devane exhibits the characteristics of an interested goal oriented person. She is a good
quality student who works well with other classmates to accomplish team and individual goals. Ms.
Devane asks appropriate questions and provides thoughtful contributions to discussions. She is
intelligent, mature, patient, has good judgment in decision making, and is polite and courteous.
In the Business Administration program at Cape Fear CC students acquire both soft skills and technical
skills. For example, in management they learn basic concepts in principles of management, but they also
take courses that concentrate on interpersonal skills, project management skills, problem-solving
techniques, and ethics. In addition our curriculum is heavy in technical hands-on skills like financial
accounting, managerial accounting, business math and finance analysis, Excel spreadsheet skills, Quick
Books and Access in elective courses, Project 2013, and PowerPoint.
This recommendation is an expression of support for Ms. Devanes ability to do the hands-on technical
work she has been tasked with in courses in our program. I believe that Ms. Devane is capable of
handling a broad variety of responsibilities in an efficient and professional manner and that you would
be pleased to include her as one of your employees.
