The above four week unit is just a sample based on the Balanced Math Instruction. Instruction should be
planned to meet the needs of your students based on data (pre-assessment, district, informal observation
from Problem Based Task).
The number of days in a unit is based on the district pacing guide and students.
Math Fact Instruction should be separate as noted, but should also be embedded in instruction, number sense
routines, math review, and mental math when applicable.
